Questions, including the awkward ones.
We would rather answer these plainly than let you find out later. Where an answer is "not yet" or "we do not do that", it says so. Anything not covered here goes to support.
About TALNTD.
What is TALNTD?
A local service marketplace for the Gulf. Customers find and book people who do practical work: cleaning, maintenance, repairs, installation, personal services and everything adjacent to them. Providers and businesses get a profile, a schedule and a review history. Everything from the first message to the final review happens in one app.
Which countries does it cover?
Six: the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman. Your account is set to one country, and currency, city lists and phone number formats follow it.
Is TALNTD live yet?
We are rolling out across the GCC, starting with the UAE. That is the honest answer: the app is built, and the marketplace is still filling up. Providers and businesses can get set up now so their profile is ready when customers arrive in their city. Email [email protected] to be told when we open in yours.
What does it cost?
Nothing, for anyone, right now. No listing fee, no subscription and no commission on a booking. That is not a trial period with a countdown attached, it is simply where we are.
If we introduce a fee later, it will be shown clearly before you accept any booking and we will tell you in advance rather than letting you discover it. We are not going to change the deal quietly.
Do I need a separate account for each role?
No. Customer, provider and business are roles on one login. You can hold more than one and switch between them inside the app without signing out. Ratings, reviews and job history are tracked separately per role, so nothing borrows credibility from anything else.
Why should I use an app instead of the group chat I already use?
For a plumber you have used for ten years, you probably should not bother. The app earns its place when you do not already have someone: you can see a rating that came from completed jobs, an identity that has been checked, a price before you commit, and a written record of what was agreed. A number passed around a group chat gives you none of that.
How do I contact you?
Email [email protected], or use the support page. We read everything, including the complaints.
Booking someone.
How do I find the right person?
Browse or search by category and city, then compare on rating, listed price and what the profile actually shows. Message anyone you are considering before booking. Scoping a job in chat costs nothing and is the fastest way to work out whether someone knows what they are talking about.
How do I know a provider is genuine?
Every provider and business verifies their identity with a government issued ID and a selfie before they can trade. Reviews on the platform can only be left after a completed booking, so a rating reflects real jobs rather than goodwill from friends. Neither of those is a guarantee of good work, and we are not going to claim otherwise, but together they make anonymity much harder.
How does payment work?
TALNTD is launching without in-app payments. You agree a price in the app, and you settle it directly with the provider however suits you both. We do not hold the money, and we do not collect or store card or bank details.
The agreed price and the whole negotiation still live in the booking, so there is a written record even though the money moves outside the app. If that changes, we will say so here and in the app first.
Can I get a proper price before committing?
Yes, and that is the point of the quote flow. A quote arrives itemised: labour, parts and anything else, each with its own rate. If it is too high, you send a counter on the same lines rather than an awkward message. Both of you keep the full history of every version.
I need the same job every week. Do I book it every week?
No. Set it up as a recurring series: weekly, every two weeks, monthly or a custom pattern. You can skip a single visit, reschedule a single visit, or end the series, under notice terms agreed when the series was set up. See how it works for the full flow.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancel in the app and the provider is notified immediately rather than finding out when they arrive. Notice terms are the ones agreed at booking, which is why they are stated up front. Cancelling late on someone who has turned down other work is worth avoiding for reasons beyond policy.
Can I leave a review without my name on it?
Yes. Reviews can be posted anonymously, and you can attach photos. The rating counts the same either way. You can only review a booking that was actually completed.
Offering your work.
What do I need to sign up?
An email address or phone number, the country and city you work in, a government issued ID and a selfie. After that, the useful part: at least one service with a clear price, your working hours, how much notice you need, and how far ahead you are willing to be booked.
Why do you need my ID and a selfie?
Because you are the one turning up at someone's home, and a customer is entitled to know that a real, identifiable person is behind the profile. The records are held for safety and dispute resolution and are only accessible to TALNTD support staff for legitimate review. The ID number is also hashed so that a provider removed from the platform cannot simply sign up again. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Do you take a cut of what I earn?
No. There is no commission, no listing fee and no subscription. Because there are no in-app payments, your money does not pass through us at all: the customer pays you directly. If a fee is ever introduced you will be told in advance and it will be visible before you accept anything.
Can I stop people booking me at stupid hours?
Yes, and you should. Set working hours, a minimum lead time, and how far into the future your calendar is open. Customers only see slots you are genuinely free for, so a booking request is never a surprise you have to decline.
What if a customer counters my quote with something unworkable?
Send a revised quote, or decline. A counter is a structured revision of your own lines, so you can see exactly which item they pushed back on and reply to that rather than to a bare number. Nothing is binding until a booking is confirmed, and you are never obliged to accept a price you do not want.
Do my reviews belong to me?
They are attached to your provider profile and stay with it. Provider and business ratings are tracked separately, so if you also run a company the two do not blend. Reviews you wrote are kept if you delete your account, shown as written by a deleted user, so the people you rated keep an accurate score.
I run a small company. Provider or business?
If you do the work yourself, provider. If other people do work under your name and you need to assign jobs to them, business, because that is where staff accounts live. You can hold both roles on the same login if the answer is genuinely both. There is more on the providers page and the businesses page.
Running a team on it.
How do staff accounts work?
You invite a member of staff by email and they join your company from their own account, with their own login. There is no shared password and no single phone that the whole operation depends on. Removing someone removes their access.
Can staff refuse a job I assign them?
Yes. Assignment sends the job to that person, and they accept or reject it. You find out immediately, which is considerably better than finding out on the morning of the booking that nobody is going.
Does my company rating mix with my personal one?
No. Provider ratings and business ratings are stored and displayed separately. A strong personal reputation does not inflate the company score, and vice versa.
What do I need to list a service?
A description, photos, the cities you cover and a pricing model. Each service is listed on its own rather than lumped into one entry, so a customer searching for one specific thing finds that thing.
Can a business account also book other people?
Yes. Add the customer role to the same login and switch to it when you need to hire someone. Your company sees none of it, and your customer activity has no effect on your business rating.
Do you verify businesses differently from individuals?
Both submit a government issued ID and a selfie for the person setting the account up, at signup. Business accounts additionally carry a company name and staff who each sign in as themselves.
Your data and what happens when it goes wrong.
What data do you collect?
Account details (name, email, phone, country, city), your activity on the platform (bookings, messages, reviews), addresses you save, device and crash diagnostics, and, for providers and businesses only, identity documents. Location is used for saved addresses and for showing nearby providers. We do not track your location continuously in the background. The complete list is in the Privacy Policy.
Are my chat messages private?
Not entirely, and you should know that before you use the chat. Messages are subject to automated scanning for policy violations, and flagged conversations may be reviewed by TALNTD staff. Messages are also sent to a translation service when you and the other party use different languages. Do not put anything in the chat you would not want reviewed for policy compliance.
Who can see my ID documents?
Only TALNTD support staff, and only for legitimate review such as a safety concern or a dispute. Customers never see another user's identity documents. The images and the extracted number are stored encrypted, and the number is hashed to detect duplicate accounts.
Do you sell my data?
We do not sell your personal data to third parties for advertising. Data is shared with the other party of a booking, with the infrastructure and translation services we run on, and with law enforcement only where required by valid legal process. Those are named individually in the Privacy Policy.
Something went wrong on a job. What now?
Start in the booking thread, because that is where the quote, the messages and the photos already are. If you cannot resolve it between you, contact support with the booking reference. Providers and businesses have verified identity records on file, which is exactly what those records exist for. Since we do not hold the money, we cannot reverse a payment, and we will not pretend we can.
How do I report someone?
Email [email protected] with the booking reference and what happened. Behaviour that breaks the Terms can get an account removed, and the duplicate detection on identity records is there to make coming back under a new name difficult.
How do I delete my account?
Open the app, go to the Profile tab, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. You cannot delete an account with active bookings, because someone on the other side may be owed work. If you cannot sign in, email [email protected] from the address on the account. The account deletion page sets out exactly what is deleted and what is kept.
Where to go next.
How it works
A booking from first search to final review, shown from both the customer's side and the provider's.
